Four weeks ago Claudine and Philippa embarked on an 8 week Tony Ferguson weight loss journey. Each week they’ve encouraged us and each other via a video call and active participation on Facebook. Let’s take a look at their weekly journey so far.
Week 1 is always the hardest week as you are changing your diet and your body is adjusting to these changes. Some common experiences people have on week one is hunger, headaches, tiredness, light headedness. These usually last a few days up to a week. Our buddies were no different with Claudine experiencing a bit of hunger and Philippa experiencing lightheadedness. Both girls exercise but didn’t realise they should be having an exercise snack on the days of exercise which would help prevent the light headedness. By the end of the week they adjusted to the Program, consumed their exercise snack and felt a lot better.
Tip for week one: Read through your Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program Book carefully and if you exercise don’t forget to have your exercise snack!
Every weight loss journey has challenges. Week 2 proved to be a challenge when it came to food for our buddies. Claudine went overseas for a wedding and so faced the prospect of airplane food and being out of her normal environment where she had control of what she ate, not to mention irresistible wedding food. Philippa had her ‘take-away loving family’ staying over for a week so had to withstand the temptation to join in as the smell of hot chips wafted through the house. How did they survive? They accepted that there were going to be temptations but did the best they could to stick to the Program e.g. Claudine ended up having some of the plane food but avoided the bread roll. Philippa ordered a healthier take away option.
Tip for week 2: In difficult situations, do the best you can to stick to the Program, get through it and get back on track as soon as you can.
Week 2 had a few challenges for our buddies but week 3 saw a return to normal routine (later on in the week for Claudine). Week 3 proved to be quite a ‘feel good’ week for our buddies in that people began noticing their weight loss and clothes were feeling looser. A work mate told Claudine she was looking thinner and Philippa can actually do up her sparkly skirt – the only fear is that it may soon be too big! A wonderful problem to have I’m sure.
Tip for week 3: There may be tough weeks but don’t give up because when you get through it and keep going, the positive results are motivating.
After the hype and excitement of last week, week 4 had a few challenges. Claudine didn’t get to the gym as much as usual, didn’t eat everything she should have and due to the cold may have snuck a hot chocolate or two. Philippa had a good week but missed a bit of normal food and on one occasion found herself eyeing someone’s packet of crisps and considered doing a runner with them! Both felt a little de-motivated as they compared their weight loss with others. But what helped this week was using the support on the Tony Ferguson Facebook page where they spoke to others and were encouraged. Both felt leaner, Claudine received another compliment at work and Philippa felt the difference when running in the lead up to her marathon next week.
Tip for week 4: Don’t compare your weight loss with others, we are all different and lose weight at different rates so focus on you. Use the support provided such as the Tony Ferguson Facebook page, forum, chat, contact centre and in-store.
So that sums up 4 successful weeks for our buddies. Have you experienced similar challenges and joys? Check out our Facebook page for further weekly updates and stay posted for another update from me in 4 weeks.
