Getting Back on Track
Believe it or not, party season has ended! And sad to say, it's time to get back on that healthy diet. Yep no more excuses and in reality, the longer you prolong...the harder it may be to get back on track. So why not start today?
It can be difficult to get back on track once you have stopped especially if you feel like you've gained weight. You may find that the words 'what's the point' or 'it's too late' come to mind. But remember losing weight is a journey not a quick fix and it will take time to reach your goals and there will be times when you've gone off track and need to start over or resume. So first we should start by getting our head in the right place. Here's some thoughts:
- Think about why you wanted to lose weight in the first place?
- Think of all the hard work you have done with your weight loss up to now and how you do not want to have to begin from the start again if you decide to lose weight in future.
- Believe that you can do it because you can!
- Read about other's success stories to help motivate you.
- Realise that if you don't succeed at first, don't give up, just keep trying!
- Begin again with a friend or relative to help motivate each other.
- Know that everyone has days where they fall off the rails but the difference between success and not being successful is that the successful disregard a bad day or week and just get back on track. Why not adapt this attitude.
What about once you've decided to begin?
- Re-read and familiarise yourself with Program information so you are fully informed and up to date.
- Ask your Tony Ferguson Weightloss Practitioner or give our contact centre (0800 998 253) a call for support or to enquire of any Program updates.
- Resist, remove, eat or give away (or get the family to hide and padlock) all foods that you need to avoid on the Weightloss Program.
- Purchase all the Program foods so that you are fully stocked up and ready to start with no reason to stop.
- Look at recipe ideas that you and even your family can enjoy while on the Program. Check out the recipes in the Tony Ferguson Cook books and our website.
- Have another look at your weight loss goals and assess whether they are realistic and achievable. If you think they are too ambitious, set smaller more achievable initial goals and once these are reached, set another small goal until you reach an ultimate goal that you are happy with.
- Decide on small non food related rewards to give yourself once you’ve achieved your goal (ultimate or mini goals). For example a new item of clothing, a hair appointment or pamper pack.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help or support. Support can come in many forms for example from your family and friends, colleagues at work and from your local Tony Ferguson Practitioner or our contact centre.
Remember we at Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program are here to support you and would love to help you get back on track. All you need to do is come in and see us or give us a call! We look forward to helping you reach a goal you are happy with as you strive to a healthier lifestyle.
