Tony Ferguson Weightloss questions

How does the Program help me lose weight?

There's no calorie counting or complex meal routines just our simple Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program™ which is designed so you can safely lose weight in the amount of time you chose to stay on the Program. Our Program works by reducing your intake of calories and carbohydrates. This helps your body start using fat as a primary source of fuel, helping you spend more time each day burning stored fat.

But no program works without support, so we have a team of dietitians, nutritionists, pharmacists, and professionally trained staff, ready to answer your every query.

Can I snack on the Program?

Yes, you can snack. You are allowed two pieces of low G.I. fruit per day and a minimum of three cups of low G.I. vegetables. You can also snack on our Tony Ferguson Diet Jelly. For advice on any other snack choices, please come in and see us.

What if I’m still hungry?

On the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program™, there is no need to be hungry for more than 30 minutes. If you are regularly hungry or finding it difficult to stay with the Program, you can simply add more protein (e.g. eggs or meat). We can even tailor a special weekly program for you. Tony Ferguson Fibre may also be of benefit as it thickens the shakes and makes you fuller, and also aids digestion.

What’s in the soups and shakes?

Our soups and shakes are 50% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 20% essential fats and nutrients.

What can I mix my soups and shakes with?

You should only mix with water. For a shake or soup, add 200-250ml of water. To make a shake into a delicious, creamy mousse, use 150ml of water.

Why have I been experiencing headaches and dizziness while on the Program?

These symptoms are very common in the early stages of the Program. Usually, they are related to caffeine withdrawal and the detoxification of your body. Symptoms should not last for more than two days, and you’ll find drinking two litres of water per day may help. If symptoms persist, see your doctor.

I’ve come down with a cold/flu, should I stay on the Program?

Yes, but talk to your consultant or call the call centre for more details on what eating plan is advised when you're feeling unwell.

Do I need the Tony Ferguson Weightloss book?

The Tony Ferguson Weightloss Book is an indispensable part of the Program and plays a major role in helping you achieve success. It explains how your body manages weight, why other programs fail and how our Program is different. It also provides you with strategies to deal with tough days and all our allowed food lists.

Why should I take the Tony Ferguson Fibre supplement?

Tony Ferguson Fibre helps prevent constipation, a discomfort that may arise as a result of the Program. Fibre also helps stop any hunger you may feel when you first start the Program by bulking up your shakes. Be sure to take plenty of water with your Tony Ferguson Fibre.

Why should I take the Tony Ferguson Multivitamin Mineral Complex?

Tony Ferguson Multivitamin Mineral Complex is specifically designed for our low carbohydrate Program, so you won't be missing any essential nutrients. It has no added yeast, wheat, lactose, gluten, salt or other common fillers, so it won't hinder your weight loss progress. Chromium has also been added to help suppress hunger and cravings.

Why has my weight change stalled?

There can be several reasons for stalled weight but the main thing to remember is that it can be started again! Some reasons can be medical, others dietary - we’ll attend to your specific case on an individual basis. Also remember, that the closer you are to your ideal weight, the slower your weight change will be, so hang in there. See our Stalled Weight Change page for more information.
